About Us

Two experienced Aeronautical Engineers are designing, testing and prototype building an off-grid, home use Vertical Axis Wind Turbine.

The project is self-funded at the moment but we are always looking for grants, investors and help in kind.

The eventual goal is to mass produce these turbines in the UK and sell them.   We would also like to make them available to the less fortunate, through charitable donations and subsidies.

The timing seems to be right, high-energy prices and growing interest in renewable energy.

The proposed unit is not small at circa 2.2m high x 1.9m in diameter, producing circa 660w at a wind speed of 10m/s.  In most rural open spaces in the UK this should recover around £1,000 worth of electricity annually for an initial cost of less than £1,000 for the turbine and generator (not including mounting or installation).

We have tested scale models on a testbed towed behind a car, and have completed some limited simulations.  We're also being supported by an Undergraduate project at Loughborough University who intend to do more simulation using dynamic CFD.
